While in college, she danced with the Lone Star Ballet and the outdoor musical "Texas" where she was also a dance captain for the troupe. She directed high school dance teams and choreographed several high school musicals, as well as beauty and modeling shows. Before owning her own studio, she was the Associate Director of Pacific Festival Dance Academy where she assisted in choreography and direction of their annual Nutcracker. Aside from dance, Lisa has also been a school teacher for 5 years. She taught 4th, 5th and 8th grades at St. Clare Catholic School in Portland and continues to be involved with that community today.
Miss Hillary began dancing at the age of 7. She danced competitively for 10 years. She has won numerous awards including 3 Regional Championships, Dancer of the Year and scholarships to compete nationally. While earning her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, she danced and choreographed for Pacific Lutheran University's Dance Ensemble and Night of Musical Theater. Recently, she has choreographed for local company, Vitality. She has been with Yellow Rose Dance since it opened 13 years ago and is excited to pass on her passion for dance to all of her students.
Yellow Rose Dance takes pride in teaching to the whole dancer.
All classes offer age and developmentally appropriate dance instruction to all skill levels.
Most classes are combination classes including Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Tap.
This allows us to create a well rounded dancer that can utilize skills in any future career.
Come Play, Come Dance, Come Bloom! We hope to bring out the love of dance in every student.
